The formation of Chiang Kai-shek monument
After losing to the Communist Party's army in a four-year civil war, Chiang Kai-shek decided to withdraw his troops to Taiwan. He spent most of the last years of his life there with the idea of building and reviving the ROC , greatly contributing to the restoration of the developed Taiwan colony as it is today. Thanks to that, the late President was very popular and loved by the people.

Architecture of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Monument
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial is built on a large campus of up to 25 hectares (~ 250,000m2) including flower gardens and footpaths. The first impression of visitors is a big honest gate with classical Chinese architecture, including 5 large gates. A central port and four auxiliary ports are equally divided on both sides. Inside the monument is divided into three main areas: Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Zhongzheng Park, and finally the National Concert Center and National Theater.
1. Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
This is the main highlight of this whole project. Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is located in a large campus. The body of the building consists of 4 24m high facade like a majestic fortress. Directly below are the steps of about 14.5m high as a background. The domed main gate is made of brass with a height of up to 16m and weighs about 75 tons. The top of the building is built in the traditional octagonal tile roof. Including the roof, the memorial has a height of 70m. The entire memorial house is built of white marble on a red background and moss-tiled green roofs. These are the three colors representing the flag and values of freedom, kindness and equality.
The entrance to the monument must pass through two sets of white stairs, each of which has 89 steps to represent the life and years of Chiang Kai-shek. Inside the ground floor of the memorial is a historical museum that records the life and career of the late President Chiang Kai-shek with the military uniforms, weapons, armored cadillacs he used to use, etc. is an exhibition exhibiting Taiwan's historical artifacts and development process.
On the upper floor of the building is the main hall, containing the large statue of Chiang Kai-shek. The statue of the leader Chiang Kai-shek smiling kindly and equally majestic is made of bronze, facing the West facing the presidential palace and mainland China. This statue has a height of 6.3m and a total weight of up to 21.25 tons. The statue also features the President's will, surrounded by stately guards standing around the clock.
2. Trung Chinh Park
