Cua Ong Temple - the sacred temple in the mines
The Cua Ong Temple, located in the Cua Ong Township of Cam Pha City, is one of Quang Ninh's special spiritual tourist attractions that are respected by people from far and wide. The temple is a place of worship for one of the most famous generals of the Tran dynasty - Hung Nhuong Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tang and many other relatives who held important positions in the dynasty.

During the feudal period, the temple was a small temple built under an old tree. Things started to change in the early years of the 20th century, when the French brought the technical background for the advanced construction of the West to our country and started renovating all the factories, including the Cua Ong Temple.

In 2017, the state celebrated the temple as a special national monument that must be preserved and preserve cultural beauties. There is one big event every year that attracts thousands of tourists, the Buddhist Festival. Good news has spread widely, so far the temple is the most famous sacred place not only for Quang Ninh, but also for the whole country.

Discover the unique architecture of the Cua Ong Temple
The Cua Ong Temple is located right next to Bai Tu Long Bay on one side of the mountain and on the other side of the sea. The entire temple was carefully built from many layers of solid brick and tile. The temple was originally divided into three areas: lower, middle and upper, but the war destroyed many parts of the building. At the moment the lower and middle parts have been seriously destroyed, only the upper part is relatively complete.

Later the lower and middle part of the old area was rebuilt, while the east-eastern Buddhist architecture was preserved. In the upper part there is a temple to worship, on the left the place for ceremonies and the use of paper and funeral papers. General Tran Quoc Tang's tomb is behind the upper part.

When you enter the temple, you will see more than 30 statues that honor other famous relatives of the Tran dynasty. All are carefully carved by skillful hands of artisans. Some of the new statues were recently designed, but are still steeped in classic Eastern architecture.

Visitors can visit each statue in three separate mapping areas, including: the district with statues to worship generals and gods such as Le Phu Tran, Tran Khac Chung, ..., the Tran Quoc Toan district and its nearby generals Ha Dac, Tran Khanh Du , ... and the harem worship General Tran Quoc Tuan and loyal followers Pham Ngu Lao, Yet Kieu.

If you visit the Cua Ong temple in the early spring days, you can take part in many interesting activities and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the country's most coveted Buddha gate. These days, the temple is artfully decorated and underlines its architectural sophistication. One of the very interesting experiences is that you draw a number card at the beginning of the year and are hired by the monks to give advice on the upcoming trip.
